STAR WARS GALACTIC STARCRUISER
The long awaited Galactic Starcruiser is now open at Walt Disney World in Orlando Florida. A brief description from WDW websites describes it as:
"Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser is a revolutionary new 2-night experience where you are the hero. You and your group will embark on a first-of-its-kind Star Wars adventure that’s your own. It’s the most immersive Star Wars story ever created—one where you live a bespoke experience and journey further into a Star Wars adventure than you ever dreamed possible.
Arrive at the Walt Disney World Resort terminal, board a launch pod and rendezvous with the magnificent Halcyon starcruiser. Stay in a cabin or suite with an exquisite view of space. Throughout the ship, you’ll interact with an eclectic collection of characters, sit down to exotic galactic cuisine and perhaps even plot a secret mission together.
As the itinerary continues, you’ll take the story further and deeper. Choose your path. Seek out the inner workings of the legendary starship, learn the traditional art of wielding a lightsaber and even jump on a transport to the planet Batuu—where your mission continues at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge!"
Now as cool as that sounds, this experience is an expensive one. $4800 for 2 visitors; again for 2 nights. You cannot stay longer because this adventure is like a movie. You can join the Resistance, the First Order or be a smuggler. Much of what happens actually corresponds to Batuu at Hollywood Studios. You will even have an excursion to Batuu & kind of go on a scavenger hunt. It's not by accident or an after thought. Both Batuu & Galactic Starcruiser were developed simultaneously, so your experience is seamless & kind of explains why Hondo Ohnaka is so eager to get coaxium in Smuggler's Run. Like all of the events portrayed at Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, the ride & Galactic Starcruiser takes place between The Last Jedi and The Rise of Skywalker movies.
It is a fun experience & though I know some seasoned Star Wars fans may be upset about the ride because the hotel is said to look more like a Star Trek or Battlestar Galactica set, or because there are so many new characters, it is a good experience. The whole experience is like a cruise, complete with a cruise director & a captain. Your day is filled with excursions and events that add to the excitement & adventure. The First Order though boards because there is reports of a spy on board. Kylo Ren, & Rey have a few words, confrontation & a fight for galaxy supremacy. There's a lot to do on these two days, but is it worth the price? That's up to you to decide. We'll do a more in depth video of Galactic Starcruiser in the future.
